Research projects in the Division of Pediatric Endocrinology at Golisano Children’s Hospital at Strong include:

• Studies of the role that hormones play in normal and abnormal development
• Participation in TrialNet, a network of 18 clinical centers dedicated to the study, prevention and early treatment of type 1 diabetes
• Research through the NIH-designated Autoimmunity Center of Excellence to develop treatments for type 1 diabetes
• Advantages and disadvantages of continuous insulin administration by an external pump. Study of continuous blood glucose monitoring.
• Evaluation of in-school diabetes management and factors affecting metabolic control and long-term outcome in diabetes
