Fourteenth Annual Anne E. Dyson Child Advocacy Forum
We at the Hoekelman Center (formerly known as the Pediatric Links with the Community (PLC) Program) are pleased to invite you to the Fourteenth Annual Anne E. Dyson Child Advocacy Forum. Our speaker will be William Dietz, M.D., Ph.D., and his talk is "Have we turned the corner on the obesity epidemic?"
Dr. Dietz is the former Director of the Division of Nutrition, Physical Activity, and Obesity at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Prior to his appointment at the CDC, he was a Professor of Pediatrics at Tufts University School of Medicine.
Dr. Dietz is an internationally recognized expert on obesity control. He was featured in the HBO documentary “The Weight of the Nation.” He will be talking about what pediatricians, parents and others can do to fight the root causes of the obesity epidemic. Please join us for what promises to be a stimulating event at the intersection of science, medicine and advocacy.
The Dyson Day lecture will be held on Wednesday, March 5th in the Class of ’62 Auditorium at the University of Rochester Medical Center at 8:00 a.m. As in past years, there will be an informal CARE Track community project poster session from 9-11 a.m. in the Sarah Flaum Atrium. Dr. Dietz will be delivering the same talk on Tuesday, March 4th at Rochester General Hospital in the Twig Auditorium at 8:00 a.m.
Please feel free to contact Sandi Tu, Center Manager at (585) 273-3737 or by email at Santina_Tu@urmc.rochester.edu if you have any questions.
We hope you will be able to join us for this event!
