Application Process
The Division of Pediatric Infectious Diseases welcomes applicants for our fellowship program. We participate in the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP) and utilize the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) to manage applications.
We ask that you submit all documents using the ERAS Fellowships Document Office at https://www.erasfellowshipdocuments.org/ (EFDO). Only completed applications will be reviewed for interviews. ERAS opens in January for fellowships starting in July of the following year.
Please submit the following documents via the ERAS system:
-
MyERAS Application
-
Curriculum vitae
-
Personal statement telling us about yourself, your interest in infectious disease, long-term plans, and specific fellowship training goals
-
Three letters of recommendation from faculty within your department
In the Division of Pediatric Infectious Diseases, fellowship training is supported by a grant from the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Therefore, only US citizens or permanent residents are eligible to apply for the program.
Selection criteria include an excellent residency performance record. Preference is given to applicants who have career goals consistent with those of the program, namely, to conduct research and teach as a member of the faculty in a medical school Pediatric Infectious Diseases unit.
Candidates are required, with rare exception, to visit Rochester for personal interviews with members of the faculty and to meet with current fellows. Expenses are the responsibility of the candidates; however, we will assist with arrangements to help reduce costs.
