Adolescent Medicine Fellowship
Application Process: ACGME Medical Fellowship
We are now considering fellowship applications for 2012. For early consideration, please submit your application by September 1st.
All medical fellows complete the LEAH certification within their first year of training. Medical fellows do not need to complete a separate application for the LEAH Fellowship.
Prerequisites
- Completion of an ACGME-accredited residency in general pediatrics, internal medicine, or family medicine
- United States citizenship or permanent resident visa status*
*Please note: Funding available for our fellowship program only provides salary support for U.S. citizens, naturalized citizens or citizens holding permanent residency in the U.S.
Application Process
Applications will be processed through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) at https://www.erasfellowshipdocuments.org/ and will open in July for this application cycle. Please submit the following documents via the ERAS system:
- MyERAS Application
- Curriculum vitae
- Personal statement telling us about yourself, your interest in Adolescent Medicine, long term plans, and specific fellowship training goals
- Three letters of recommendation from faculty within your department (one from the Chief of Pediatrics or the Director of Adolescent Medicine, and two from other faculty members who are familiar with your work)
- Medical School transcript
- Board Scores (USMLE or COMLEX)
- Photograph
Selection criteria will include an excellent performance record. Preference is given to applicants who have career goals consistent with those of the program; namely, interest in advocacy, community leadership, research or teaching expertise in Adolescent Health.
Candidates are required, with rare exception, to visit Rochester for personal interviews with members of the faculty. Expenses are the responsibility of the candidates; however, we will assist with arrangements to help reduce costs.
