Director, Child Advocacy Resident Education (CARE Track): Andrew Aligne, MD MPH

Co-Director of Pediatric Links to the Community program and Director of the Child Advocacy Resident Education Track. He will adapt the CARE track curriculum to the unique needs of our fellows. His current responsibilities include overseeing the didactic curriculum, teaching evidence-based public health, helping residents plan community and advocacy projects, and assisting in the overall goal setting and evaluation of PLC. He is internationally recognized as a leader in community pediatrics training, and advocates locally on the behalf of policies and programs to promote the health of children. Dr. Aligne has experience teaching community health and child advocacy at the fellowship level to physicians and professionals from several specialties and disciplines.  He is also a nationally recognized expert on tobacco, and environmental and social determinants of child health. His original public health research has been published in JAMA and other leading journals. He currently mentors physicians participating in over a dozen community-based health projects in Rochester.
