Co-Director, Disparities Research Training: Laura Shone, MSW, DrPH
Dr. Shone holds a DrPH from the PEW Doctoral Program in Health Policy, as well as an MSW, and has a long career in directing research focused on vulnerable children. In 12 years as a research project director, she led local, state, and national studies, and performed both primary data collection and secondary analyses of national datasets. She has demonstrated expertise in research methodology, implementation, management, and training. With a multidisciplinary background in social work, research, and public health policy and a personal research focus on disparities in healthcare for vulnerable children, she will mentor fellows on their research projects in health disparities. Her involvement highlights the importance of multi-disciplinary training and a focus on disparities.
