Infectious Diseases Fellowship
Application Process
Prerequisite: Candidates must have satisfactorily completed an ACGME/ABP accredited residency in general pediatrics. However, applicants pursuing other training pathways approved by the American Board of Pediatrics, such as the Accelerated Research Pathway, are also welcome to apply.
For consideration to our Fellowship Program, please submit:
- Completed application
- Curriculum Vitae
- Personal statement telling us about yourself, your interest in infectious disease, long term plans, and specific fellowship training goals
- Three letters of recommendations from faculty within your department
In the division of Pediatric Infectious Diseases, fellowship training is NIH supported and therefore, only U.S. citizens or permanent residents are eligible to apply.
Selection criteria will include an excellent residency performance record. Preference is given to applicants who have career goals consistent with those of the program, namely, to conduct research and teach as a member of the faculty in a medical school Pediatric Infectious Diseases unit.
Candidates are required, with rare exception, to visit Rochester for personal interviews with members of the faculty and to meet with current fellows. Expenses are the responsibility of the candidates; however, we will assist with arrangements to help reduce costs.
