Dr. K. Rao Poduri, Chair and Associate Professor of the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, is a nationally renowned physiatrist is board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Spinal Cord Medicine, and Pain Management. Dr. Poduri is fellowship-trained in Geriatric Rehabilitation. She is the Medical Director of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation services at Strong Memorial Hospital and is the Program Director of the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation residency program. She has a passion for teaching residents and medical students. Dr. Poduri has extensive experience in the treatment of stroke, spinal cord injury, amputations, and chronic pain.
She is a member of many prestigious Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation associations such as the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, the Association of Academic Physiatrists, the American Spinal Injury Association, the International Society of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine, and has authored many journal articles. Besides being a busy physician and administrator, Dr. Poduri is active in research and has presented many research studies at national and international meetings. She has been invited to present her research to her peers in Germany, India, and Canada. Dr. Poduri is a patient advocate and is responsible for the annual Spinal Cord Injury Health Fair in the Greater Rochester, NY area.
