Professional Bio
Dr. John P. Goldblatt is a board certified, and fellowship trained Sports Medicine Orthopaedic Surgeon. He is an Associate Professor in the Division of Sports Medicine, and member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, and Arthroscopy Association. Dr. Goldblatt's specialty interests include injury to the athlete's shoulder and knee. His skills include arthroscopic management of throwing injuries, rotator cuff disease, and shoulder instability. Additionally, his arthroscopy skills for knee injuries include anterior cruciate ligament, posterior cruciate ligament, and multiple ligament reconstructions (knee dislocations).
He performs meniscus repair, articular cartilage reconstruction, cartilage transplantation. He has a unique talent for meniscus transplantation. He is a primary provider for local athletic teams including Rochester Rhino Soccer, Rochester Americans AHL hockey, Rochester Red Wings AAA baseball, Rochester Rattlers and Knighthawks lacrosse, and the University of Rochester athletic teams. He has written several peer reviewed articles, and continues to be involved with clinical research.
