Professional Bio

Dr. Elizabeth Edwardsen completed her medical degree at the University of Rochester in 1986 and a residency in Internal Medicine at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY in 1989.
After emergency medicine practice at The Genesee Hospital in Rochester, NY, Dr. Edwardsen returned to the University of Rochester in 1994 to pursue an academic career. Presently, she holds the position of Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine at the University of Rochester. She initiated the medical school curriculum on Partner Violence for the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry, and has published several chapters and numerous articles on Partner Violence, Patient and Physician Communication, and Sexual Histories and Assault.

Dr. Edwardsen's clinical responsibilities have included acute emergency medicine, urgent care and currently emergency observation medicine at Highland Hospital.
