Patient Care Bio
Dr. Courtsal is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Oberlin College with a degree in Biology. He went on to receive his medical degree from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry in 1989. He completed his residency in the Primary Care Program (Internal Medicine) at the University of Rochester in 1992 and went on to be an Internal Medicine Fellow and Chief Resident of The Residency Program at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, NY. He has been a member of the Olsan Medical Group since 1993.
Dr. Courtsal is currently board certified in Internal Medicine and became a Fellow of the American College of Physicians in 2004. Since 1988, he has been an active member of the teaching staff of the University of Rochester and currently serves as an Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine.
His professional memberships include the American College of Physicians, the Monroe County Medical Society and Physicians for Social Responsibility. His civic activities include leadership positions in the Newport Yacht Club and the First Universalist Church of Rochester.
