Professional Bio

Dr. Paul Burkat is a board-certified general adult psychiatrist, Senior Instructor of Psychiatry, at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry. Clinically, Dr. Burkat works as an attending on the general adult inpatient psychiatry service and in the Strong Behavioral Health adult clinic, and serves as the psychiatric consultant to the Strong Epilepsy Center.

Research Bio

Dr. Burkat received his Ph.D. in Physiology from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry, and completed post-doctoral training at the University of Wisconsin in Madison. His research interest focuses on psychopharmacological compounds and their effects on the physiological function of ion channel proteins.
