Dr. K-O'Connor obtained his medical degree from Tulane University School of Medicine and his Internship at Ochsner Clinic, both in New Orleans, Louisiana. A native of Rochester, NY, he returned to complete both his Diagnostic Radiology residency at the University of Rochester Medical Center and his fellowship in Magnetic Resonance Imaging at University Medical Imaging. Dr. K-O'Connor is certified by the American Board of Radiology in Diagnostic Imaging.
Dr. K-O'Connor joined the Department in 2012 as a member of the Emergency Imaging section. His professional interests include improving communication patterns between referring clinicians and radiologists, improving quality measures including radiation dose reduction and improving report turn-around time, general medicine and radiology education pedagogy, and the development and clinical application of emerging imaging technologies and applications, such as cone-beam breast computed tomography and PET-MRI.
Research interests include: initial assessment and clinical application of emerging imaging modalities (CBBCT, PET-MRI), medical education pedagogy, effects of evidence-based guidelines on physician behavior
