Dr. Korones is board certified in Pediatrics, Pediatric Hematology/Oncology, and Hospice and Palliative Medicine. He currently directs the Pediatric Brain Tumor Program and is the founder and director of the Pediatric Palliative Care Program at Golisano Children's Hospital at Strong. He is active locally, nationally and internationally, serving locally on the Board of Directors of Camp Good Days and DayStar, nationally, on the Editorial Board of the Art of Oncology for Journal of Clinical Oncology and on the Data Safety Monitoring and Review Board at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Internationally, he is a member of the steering committee of a program to bring formal pediatric hematology/oncology care and training to Ethiopia, and is a member of the SIOP-sponsored Pediatric Oncology in Developing Countries Wilms tumor study committee.

Patient Care Bio

Dr. Korones' clinical focus is palliative care and children with brain tumors. He also cares for adults with primary brain tumors. His research interests include conducting trials for children and adults with brain tumors, and improving the quality of life for patients struggling with chronic and/or life-threatening illnesses.
