Patient Care Bio

Michael Jacobs was born in Los Angeles, Ca and spent much of his youth in El Salvador sparking his current interest in international medicine. After medical school at the University of Rochester he started a Neurology Residency at University of California, Irvine. He decided Internal Medicine was a better career match and so joined the IM program at St. Vincent's Medical Center in Manhattan. With a few months of residency remaining St. Vincent's Hospital closed and Michael was fortunate enough that the University of Rochester welcomed him back to finish his residency. Michael was given the opportunity to join the Hospital Medicine faculty.

He is getting back to pursuing his interest in international medicine and has gone on a couple of medical missions to rural Nicaragua. He realized how important a business education is in order to implement change so is currently pursing his Master's degree in Medical Management with plans of obtaining an MBA from the Simon School of Business.
