Patient Care Bio
Dr. Vitek combines her clinical expertise, kindness, and compassion with state-of-the-art technologies to meet her patients' individual needs. After earning her medical degree from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry, Dr. Vitek completed a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. She returns to Rochester following a reprodicutve endocrinology and infertility fellowhsip at Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University, Women and Infants Hospital in Providence, Rhode Island.
As the Director of the Strong Fertility Center's Fertility Preservation Program, established in 2009, she is expanding this program to provide fertility preservation options for individuals facing loss of fertility due to cancer treatments, such as chemotherapy and radiation.
Dr. Vitek's extensive experience includes infertility treatments of all types, including ovulation induction, intrauterine insemination and in vitro fertilization . She is a leader in minimally invasive robotic surgery for infertility and offers this service for tubal reversals, fibroids and other infertility procedures. Her experience at Brown Unviersity, working closely with renowned menopause experts, brings added expertise to patients seeking consultations for hormone therapy.
Dr. Vitek's honors and awards include Excellence-in-Teaching, Resident Medical Education and Top Fellow Teacher of the Year, both from Women and Infants Hospital. In addition, she was the Administrative Chief Resident at Magee-Women's Hopsital.
Dr. Vitek's research interests include infertility treatments in obesity, PCOS, fertility preservation and adolescent reproductive issues.
She is a member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, American Society for Reproductive Medicine and Resolve:The National Infertiltiy Association.
