Patient Care Bio
First and most importantly, I wish to care for critically ill children. I also hope to be active in the education of residents, fellows, registered nurses and respiratory therapy staff. I hope to improve the quality of care delivered in the Pediatric ICU through education and following core measures.
World Pediatric Project: Project Panama Healing Hearts, May 2011 and 2012
The mission team consisted of pediatric intensivists, pediatric anesthesia, pediatric cardiology, pediatric cardiac surgeons and pediatric critical care nursing from around the United States. Our goal was to educate and train the Panamanian pediatric cardiac program in the operating room and the pediatric ICU to perform cardiac surgery and care post-operatively for pediatric patients with complex congenital heart diseases. The missions occur every three months and consist of teams from the United States with the eventual goal to have the Panamanian pediatric cardiac surgery program self-sufficient after five years.
