Patient Care Bio
Dr. Novak is originally from Cleveland, Ohio. He attended college at The Ohio State University, graduating Summa Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa with a degree in Molecular Genetics. He continued his education at The Ohio State University College of Medicine, receiving his medical degree in 1999. Dr. Novak then moved to the University of Rochester for Internal Medicine residency training, where he was honored with an additional teaching Chief Resident year. He subsequently completed subspecialty fellowship training in Infectious Diseases at the University of Rochester, participating in national Infectious Diseases clinical research trials.
Board Certified in both Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases, Dr. Novak joined the medical school faculty of the Univeristy of Rochester as a Hospital Medicine Attending Physician in 2005. Dr. Novak has served as a Hospitalist Clinician Educator, expert in caring for acutely ill, medically complex inpatients, while teaching aspiring medical students and resident physicians.
