Professional Bio
Ronald Patrick Bossert, M.D. has joined the University of Rochester Medical Center (URMC) as an Assistant Professor of Surgery. After receiving his Bachelor of Arts degree, Cum Laude, from Haverford College in Pennsylvania, Dr. Bossert earned his medical degree from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry.
From 2006 to 2011, Dr. Bossert completed his internship and residencies in general surgery and plastic surgery at URMC. He then spent an additional year as a fellow in body contouring surgery following massive weight loss at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in Pennsylvania prior to returning to URMC.
Currently, Dr. Bossert is the Director of the URMC Life After Weight Loss Program, a leading center for plastic surgery after weight loss. This program specifically combines his specialized surgical expertise with lifestyle and nutritional counseling. Dr. Bossert also collaborates with the Highland Hospital Bariatric Center to provide safe and effective surgical options that meet each patient's goals and expectations.
Dr. Bossert is licensed to practice medicine in the states of New York and Pennsylvania. He is a member of professional organizations including the American College of Surgeons and American Medical Association.
In addition to being the recipient of several prestigious awards, including an Office of Medical Education (OME) Research Grant Award, Dr. Bossert has authored a wide variety of publications in plastic surgery. His special interests include plastic surgery following massive weight loss, surgery of the breast, hand surgery, wound care and general reconstructive surgery.
