Research Bio
Dr. DiVincenti graduated from the Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2010. After completing a residency in comparative medicine at the University of Rochester, he was appointed to the faculty as Chief of Large Animal Medicine & Research. He is ACLAM-board eligible. He has a special interest in social housing of social species in the laboratory environment as well as refinements in experimental procedures through anesthetic, analgesic, and other veterinary care procedures. Additionally, he performs independent research in environmental contaminants and wildlife as sentinels for human health. The most notable project involves toxicant testing of lake sturgeon in the Genesee River with implications for human health and fish consumption in Rochester.
He supports research staff by providing veterinary services through the Division of Laboratory Animal Medicine including oversight of five licensed veterinary technician. DLAM services include acquisition and quarantine, diagnostic services, anesthetic and surgical support, and necropsy services.
