Research Bio
The primary interest of my lab is to study the mechanisms of neurodegeneration induced by genetic mutations, environmental toxicants and gene-environment interactions in Parkinson's disease. Our ultimate goal is to utilize this mechanistic knowledge to develop neuroprotective therapies for Parkinson's disease and perhaps other neurodegenerative disorders as well.
Please note that I have relocated my lab to the UK (www.plymouth.ac.uk/staff/ktieu#)
