Dr. Nelson received his medical degree from the University of Buffalo School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine and fellowship in Cardiology at the University of Rochester Medical Center. During this time he also served as the Chief Cardiology Fellow. He joined the faculty in 2011.
Patient Care Bio
Dr. Nelson cares for general cardiology patients at Highland Hospital. He also cares for critically ill patients in the CCU at Strong Memorial Hospital. Dr. Nelson is board certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular disease and holds advanced certifications in echocardiography, transesophageal echocardiography, and nuclear cardiology.
