Research Bio

Dr. Morrow received a PhD in cardiovascular biology from the Vascular Health Research Center, Dublin City University, Ireland in 2005. Following postdoctoral training at the Department of Surgery, University of Rochester in the lab of Dr Eileen Redmond (2006-2009), he was promoted to Instructor of Surgery in April 2009. Dr Morrow was awarded a postdoctoral fellowship from the American Heart Association in June 2006 to work on the effects of hemodynamic forces on Notch Signaling and Angiogenesis. As a result of this work he received an American Heart Association Merit award in April 2008. In April 2009 he was awarded a K99/R00 "Pathway to Independence Award"

from the National Heart, Blood and Lung institute at the National Institute of Health. Dr Morrow currently has 15 peer reviewed articles with 11 as primary author focusing on the role of Notch and Hedgehog signaling in controlling vascular cell fate.
