Dr. Staicu received his bachelor's degree in human biology from Cornell University and his medical degree from New York Medical College. Dr. Staicu received his bachelor's degree in human biology from Cornell University and his medical degree from New York Medical College. He completed his internal medicine residency and his fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at the University of Rochester School of Medicine & Dentistry. During his fellowship, he served as a post-doctoral research fellow in the R. James White Lab at the affiliated Aab Cardiovascular Research Institute, researching pulmonary hypertension. He is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care at the University of Rochester Medical Center. He served as a hospitalist at Highland Hospital for one year after his residency and before his fellowship training. He is board-certified in Internal Medicine and Pulmonary Diseases.

Dr. Staicu attends on inpatients at Highland Hospital, F.F. Thompson Hospital, and Strong Memorial Hospital, where he treats a variety of pulmonary conditions, including pneumonia, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), asthma and lung malignancy; he also provides critical care to patients in the intensive care units at each of these hospitals. In the outpatient setting, he sees patients at the Physicians Office Building Pulmonary Clinic on the Highland Hospital campus, at the Mary Parkes Center for Asthma, Allergy and Pulmonary Care in Henrietta, and in the new F.F. Thompson Pulmonary Clinic in Canandaigua.
