Patient Care Bio
Allison Huffman, DNP, FNP-C earned her first BS from Texas A&M University in 1994. At Texas Woman's University she finished a BS in Nursing in 1997 and then a MS as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) in 2001. In May 2011 she completed a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree from St. John Fisher College. After working extensively with underserved populations in Texas she joined Highland Family Medicine as a FNP in June 2010. She now teaches as a clinical faculty member through the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry and St. John Fisher College Wegman's School of Nursing. Her research interests include immigrant and refugee health and she has been a part of numerous medical mission trips to places including Honduras, Nicaragua, and Kenya.
She is married with two children and resides in Pittsford, NY. She enjoys hiking, traveling, playing the guitar, and speaks Spanish.
