Professional Bio
Dr. Tejani received his Bachelor of Arts degree, Magna Cum Laude, from Amherst College in Amherst, Massachusetts. He later earned his medical degree from Dartmouth Medical School in Hanover, Hew Hampshire.
From 2004 to 2008, Dr.Tejani completed his residency and held the position of chief resident at Yale-New Haven Hospital in New Haven, Connecticut. Prior to joining
Wilmot Cancer Center, he was a fellow in hematology/oncology at Fox Chase Cancer Center/Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Dr. Tejani is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and is licensed to practice medicine in the state of New York. He is a member of professional organizations including ASCO (American Society of Clinical Oncology) and AACR (American Association of Cancer Research).
In addition to being the recipient of several awards, Dr. Tejani has authored numerous oncology-related publications. Dr. Tejani's research experience and areas of interest include gastrointestinal cancers, head and neck cancer, communication and the culture of medicine. Dr. Tejani firmly believes that patient care is a privilege. Listening and responding to a patient's unique story is critical in helping that family on their cancer journey. Originally from Tanzania (East Africa), he is fluent in Swahili, Hindi, Urdu and Gujrati.
