Patient Care Bio
Dr. Willilams was born in Wichita, Kansas, but raised in Albion, Michigan. He attended Albion College in Albion, Michigan where he received a B.A. in biology in 1978. Thereafter, he went to Wayne State University in Detroit graduating with an M.D. degree in 1982. He went into his Family Medicine residency at oakwood Hospital in Dearborn, Michigan, graduating in 1985.
He worked for the Upper Peninsula Association of Rural Health Services from 1985 to 1989, serving on the Bay Mills Indian Reservation and working in the Ewen Medical Clinic. He worked for the Henry Ford Health System from 1989 to 1999 serving at the Southland Medical Center, but also saw AIDS patients in the Infectious Diseases Clinic in downtown Detroit. He was a participant in their CPCRA AIDS research program.
From 1999 to 2012 he worked in the Bassett Healthcare Network in Delhi, NY, where he was the medical director of that medical office, the county nursing home, and the county jail.
Dr. Williams is board certified in Family Medicine and encourages his patients to participate in their own health maintenance.
Outside of work, Dr. Williams enjoys Zen practice, playing classical piano, growing bonsai, practicing Ikebana and haiku.
