Patient Care Bio

Dr. Humaira Hashmi received her medical degree from Punjab Medical College Faisalabad, Pakistan with honors in Anatomy and completed her residency in Pediatrics at Cooper University Hospital in New Jersey. She completed her Pediatric Gastroenterology fellowship at Women and Children's Hospital in Buffalo, NY, and is board certified in Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition.



Prior to opening WNY Pediatric Gastroenterology in Batavia, Dr. Hashmi served as an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics and Pediatric Gastroenterology at Women and Children's Hospital of Buffalo from 2008 through May 2014. In addition to patient care, she has been actively involved in teaching and clinical studies. She will continue her academic and research contributions in her areas of expertise and research.

Dr. Hashmi has a strong interest in managing children and adolescents with Inflammatory Bowel Disease and is actively involved in local and national studies. She is an active member of North American Society of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition as well as an active member of the Gastroenterology Women's Coalition. She is accredited by the Royal College of Physician Educators and has contributed to numerous publications and textbook chapters. Dr. Hashmi lives with her husband and three children in Buffalo.
