Patty
Hinkle did her undergraduate work in Chemistry at Mount Holyoke College
and her graduate work at the University of California in Berkeley
in Biochemistry. She then moved to a postdoc at Harvard Medical School
in Endocrinology. She joined the faculty at Rochester in 1975 and
has worked primarily on the molecular mechanisms involved in pituitary/thyroid
regulation, with an emphasis on the TRH receptor and signal pathways.
She currently directs the core graduate course in Cell Biology, where
she covers signal transduction, and she teaches various aspects of
Endocrinology in medical and graduate courses. She enjoys spending
time with her family in the Adirondacks and on the tennis court.
