By improving our ability to admit and treat 7 days per week and enhancing our program offerings to serve a more diverse population, we have seen impressive growth in our program over the last several years.
The decision to admit a patient to rehab is based on a variety of factors. The patients' ability to tolerate an intensive 3 hour per day therapy regime, medical stability that does not limit their participation, and the strong belief that participation in the program will improve their overall quality of life. This broad definition can apply to a variety of diagnoses and, in combination with other post-discharge programs, best meets the needs of the Rochester community.
The goal of every great Rehab program is to help patients achieve the highest level of independence possible and assist them in returning home safely. Our continuous improvement in this area is reflective of encouraging patients to reach their potential and earlier communication about patients' discharge needs.
The best way to demonstrate the quality of our program is to share the positive gains that our patients make during their rehabilitation stay. Functional gain can be measured using the FIM (functional independence measure). This graph illustrates that, compared to facilities with similar populations, our patients have made comparable gains in functional independence.
The rehabilitation program takes great pride in the overall satisfaction that patients report with their experience. Every patient discharged from the rehabilitation unit is telephoned after discharge and asked about their stay, their satisfaction with the progress they made, and whether they have maintained the gains achieved on Rehab. We are very proud of the satisfaction ratings reported by our patients.
We have several convenient locations for our services.
