The Action Program

The Action Program is for people with arthritis, fibromyalgia, and other musculoskeletal conditions.

An occupational therapist meets with you for two one-hour sessions to establish your current level of functioning, strength, joint range of motion, function, and self care. And to provide you with an individualized program to increase your abilities and prevent secondary losses due to your condition.

Patients Who May Benefit From the Action Program

Those who may benefit from the Action Program are patients suffering from:

Arthritis
Rheumatoid Arthritis
Osteoarthritis
Psoriatic Arthritis
Fibromyalgia
Systemic Lupus
Erythematosis
Any other connective tissue disorder

If a condition or disease limits your independence, we can assist in adapting your lifestyle to help you reach your personal goals.

The Action Program's Role

The purpose of the Action Program is to:

Provide you with an awareness of potential limitations in relation to your diagnosis
Educate you on techniques and adaptations and establish self help and problems
solving skills
Provide communication to your physician regarding your status and goals reached
through the Action Program
Identify potential limitations that may impair your independence
Teach joint protection techniques
Demonstrate work simplification and energy conservation techniques
Determine if adaptive equipment will assist you in daily activities at home and work

Set up an appointment and be ready to take action. Call (585) 341-9000 and ask for the Action Program.

We accept most insurances. HMO patients are required to have prior approval.

Directions

The Action Program is located within the Occupational Therapy office at the Strong Rehabilitation Center at Clinton Crossings, 4901 Lac de Ville Blvd, Building D. The program is located on the 2nd floor, Suite 250.
