Dr. Benjamin received her Bachelor's Degree in Neuroscience and Behavior from Columbia University in 2001 and her Medical Degree from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry in 2005. She then completed residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology in 2009 at the University of Rochester.

She pursued advanced training in gynecologic laparoscopy through an AAGL/SRS fellowship, working primarily with Drs. Fred Howard and Joseph Scibetta. The fellowship had a strong emphasis on the evaluation and management of chronic pelvic pain. She has also received training and certification in robotic surgery. Dr. Benjamin is an AAGL Center of Excellence in Minimally Invasive Gynecology designee.

Since graduating from fellowship, she has been on faculty at the University of Rochester as an Assistant Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She is Co-Director of the Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery Fellowship.

Her primary interests are in endometriosis, chronic pelvic pain, and minimally invasive gynecologic procedures, and she welcomes referrals for patients with chronic pelvic pain or those who may require a surgeon with advanced skills in laparoscopic gynecology, including robot-assisted laparoscopy.
