I'm interested in the mechanisms of asthma and allergic lung inflammation, with an emphasis on the role of the lung's innate immune system in sensing and responding to inhaled particles and antigens. My lab studies the disruption of airway epithelial tight junction structure and function by the TLR3 ligand PolyI:C and viruses to enhance our understanding of the associations between respiratory viral infections, airway inflammation, and allergen sensitization.
