Dr. Thornburg's research interest include obesity and impact on ultrasound visualization, accuracy and birth weight prediction. Addition areas of interest include maternal diabetes, expecially in the obese patient, and the impact on pregnancy outcomes as well as preterm PROM. She currently is engaged in research in prediction of chorioamniotis in patients with preterm PROM and the use of vaginal ultrasound for fetal anatomic evalution in obese women.
