Soumya Mitra received his B.Sc. (1993) and M.Sc. (1995) in Physics from the University of Delhi, India. He came to the University of Rochester in 1997 and received his Ph.D. in Biophysics in 2004. Following that he joined the faculty at the University of Rochester as an Instructor in Radiology in 2004. He was promoted to Research Assistant Professor in 2006.
