 Overview
RESEARCH INTERESTS: Dr. Friedman's research focuses on the health and health care of older persons, especially those with disabilities or depression. He is particularly interested in the effects of primary care affiliated home visiting nurse interventions on patient satisfaction and empowerment, health and disability status, and healthcare services use and expenditures. A second area of special interest is consumer-directed care for Medicare beneficiaries. Dr. Friedman has extensive experience in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of three Medicare demonstration programs, including being the Research Director of the Medicare Primary and Consumer-Directed Care Demonstration. His most recent work has focused on personality traits and healthcare use.
