Mission of Service
Working together with individuals, families and local communities, we promote health by providing effective mental health care that is accessible, culturally competent and enriched through teaching and research.
Target Population
We serve individuals aged 18 years and older with life crises and psychiatric illness.
Description of Service Providers
Our service is staffed by a multidisciplinary team of healthcare providers representing nursing, social work, psychology, case management, counseling, marriage and family therapy and psychiatry.
Types of Services Provided
Our service provides an array of treatments including medication management, individual, family, and group counseling. We specialize in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. We have recently added a new medication consultation service for women with mood or anxiety disorders who are pregnant, planning pregnancy, are post-partum or breastfeeding. We are also engaged in research to understand the best treatment for depressed women who have a history of childhood sexual abuse.
Special Features of Service
We are dedicated to working with adults to decrease troublesome psychiatric symptoms, to improve their coping abilities, and to assist them in achieving personal growth. We are part of the University of Rochester and are dedicated to providing exceptional treatment based on the most current research.
