Electives

We at the Steinberg Fellowship are committed to tailoring elective opportunities to interested and motivated forensic fellows. There is dedicated time during the fellowship to pursue personal interests in forensic psychiatry. These electives include but are not limited to:

  1. Bioethics instruction and projects in psychiatry and forensic sciences
  2. Child forensic psychiatry track (see this exciting new program)
  3. Correctional psychiatry
  4. Family court experience
  5. New York Law School online mental disability law program
  6. Participation in private evaluation of civil and criminal forensic cases
  7. Physiometric (visual response time and penile plethysmography) assessment of sex offenders
  8. Profiling and statement analysis project

  10. St. Joseph’s Neighborhood Center Free Health Clinic
  11. Teaching of medical students, residents, other psychiatric fellows, community law enforcement and mental health group
