Medical Family Therapy Intensive
PSI 492 / CRN 18003 / 3.0 credit hrs
PSI 498 / CRN 18029 / 0.0 credit hrs

This week long intensive blends didactic and experiential methods to teach students how to work with families dealing with illness and how to collaborate with physicians from other health care professionals. The MFTI course is a 3 credit course with the University of Rochester, and all students will get a certificate of completion upon successfully completing the course. There is not an option to audit this course.

Narrative and Integrative Approaches to Family Therapy
PSI 560 / CRN 18030 / 3.0 credit hours

Narrative will focus on the use of language, storytelling, metaphor and the construction of meaning in family therapy and in the life of the therapist. Students will review cutting edge literature from multiple disciplines interested in how language and storytelling shape people’s lives.

Family Therapy Practice
PSI 562 / CRN 18048 / 3.0 credit hours

This course prepares students for working with families through advanced readings in family therapy interviewing, role play, and videotape review of faculty and others. The course will also provide students with their first experience with supervised clinical work. Initially cases will be seen conjointly by the student and faculty and then seen in live supervision.
