In honor of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, the Laboratory of Interpersonal Violence and Victimization is sponsoring a conference. The goal of the two-day meeting is to bridge research to practice. Nationally recognized researchers will be presenting locally for two days to begin a dialogue about how we can respond to the public health issue of intimate partner violence. 2007 Summer Research Institute

The Summer Research Institute on Suicide Prevention (SRI/SP) provides an introduction to suicidology and preventions research, as well as devoting considerable time for the development of grant preparation skills. Each year the SRI/SP will also consider one topic in greater depth. For 2007 there will be a focus on the influence of life events from large scale disasters to individual losses and their influence on suicide risk.
