Number of Interventional Cardiologists Exceeding Guidelines for Individual Physician Volume for Angioplasty

From Q2 2005 to Q2 2006, 100% of Strong Memorial Hospital's interventional cardiologists performed more than 75 angioplasty procedures, exceeding the AHA/ACC guidelines for individual physician volume.

Angioplasty guidelines, published by the American College of Cardiology/American Heart Association in 2005, recommend that individual physicians who perform angioplasty should perform a minimum of 75 procedures per year in order to obtain the best outcomes.
