Get With the Guidelines – Stroke Initial Performance Achievement Award
The Strong Stroke Center is one of just 68 hospitals in the United States recognized for its active and successful participation in the Get With the Guidelines – Stroke program. Sponsored by the American Heart Association and the American Stroke Association, Get With the Guidelines is an in-hospital program aimed at improving acute stroke treatment and preventing future strokes and cardiovascular events in patients.
By winning the award, the Strong Stroke Center is one of the few hospitals in the country consistently adhering to core standards of care shown to provide the best outcomes for stroke patients, including rapid administration of clot-busting tPA, prophalytic use of antithrombotic and anticoagulation therapies, specialized interventions for deep vein thrombosis, and smoking cessation.
