Matthew R. Cochran, B.S.Matt Cochran graduated from SUNY Geneseo in 2001 with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology. In the fall of 2001 Matt came to work full time for Dr. William Bonnez at the University of Rochester Infectious Disease Unit. During his 3 years in the IDU he worked with both human and animal samples and learned numerous laboratory techniques. Those techiniques include, but are not limited to ELISA, cell culture, ICC, IHC, and in situ hybridization as well as UCAR certification. Since joining the RHIC core lab in September '03 Matt has become a BD certified LSRII operator completing training courses in instrumentation and software. He is now in charge of the daily QC and maintenance of the 18 and 11 color LSRIIs as well as training for new users. Matt also took part in the 31st Annual Course in Cytometry in 2008 and is also proficient in flow cytometry staining techniques and the use of FlowJo analysis software.
