Tenure Track/Tenured Faculty Position
The Center for RNA Biology, directed by Lynne E. Maquat, PhD, and David H. Mathews, MD, PhD, invites applications for a tenure-track position at the ASSISTANT, ASSOCIATE or FULL PROFESSOR level. We are seeking outstanding candidates holding a PhD and/or an MD degree(s) and at least two years of post-doctoral training with research interests in the area of RNA biology. Emphasis is being placed on, but is not limited to, the study of RNA metabolism or the use of RNA as a therapeutic target or tool. Successful applicants are expected to develop independent, externally funded research programs and to contribute toward graduate- and medical-school teaching. The University of Rochester Medical Center and the adjacent College of Arts, Sciences and Engineering are part of a world-class life sciences research campus, providing excellent opportunities for interactions and collaborations, and offer an outstanding research environment with established strengths in RNA Biology. Our Center for RNA Biology has expertise in genome stability, post-transcriptional processing and regulation, structural and functional characterization of molecular interactions, computational biology, and biophysical chemistry. Studies encompass rRNA, pre-mRNA, mRNA, tRNA, lncRNA and miRNA in humans, model organisms, pathogens and in vitro.
