Dr. Kurlan received his medical degree from Washington University Medical Canter. His research work focuses on 1) large-scale, multicenter clinical trials for patients with Parkinson's disease and related conditions, 2) a variety of clinical research directions (eg, phenomenology, genetics, epidemiology) related to Parkinson's disease and other neurologic movement disorders, and 3) collaborations with basic neuroscientists in translational research to develop new therapies and reliable biomarkers for accurate clinical diagnosis and for measuring progression of neurodegenerative diseases.
