Dr. Mhyre received his Ph.D. in Neurobiology and Anatomy from the University of Rochester in 2000. Subsequently, he completed a postdoctoral research fellowship in the Department of Neurology and became a research assistant professor in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine in 2002. He joined Dr. Federoff's lab in the Center for Aging and Developmental Biology in 2003.
Dr. Mhyre is interested in the identification, validation, and further study of peripheral biomarkers in age-related neurodegenerative diseases, specifically late-onset Alzheimer's disease and Parkinson's disease.
