SAD-PD Home

The University of Rochester is conducting a research study of antidepressant medication in patients with Parkinson’s disease (PD) at several medical centers throughout the United States and Canada.

This study is important because researchers estimate that 40-50% of PD patients will experience depression during the course of their disease, yet there have been no large scale research studies examining the effects of antidepressants on patients with Parkinson’s disease.

In order to participate in SAD-PD, patients must be:

• over 30 years old
• diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease
• experiencing symptoms of depression (such as sadness, decreased energy, or problems sleeping)
