Educational ResearchGoal:To encourage members of the learning community to engage in systematic inquiry into the medical education process by providing information on grant and fellowship opportunities and to encouraging faculty to report findings to the broader educational community. By supporting educational research, our goal is to encourage systematic intellectual engagement and invites critical reflection and discourse on educational practices. This office serves as a center for facilitating identification of research projects on medical education, for bringing faculty as well as students together to engage in educational research, and to provide guidance for these activities. All aspects of medical education are open to inquiry such as assessment of pedagogical methods, learning styles, the learning environment, professional development, and assessing organizational structures that support medical education.
Educational GrantsThe Curricular Affairs Office is continuously searching for educational grants that would be of interest to faculty, staff and students at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry. These lists are updated on a bi-weekly basis.For further information on grants opportunities, faculty members should use the contact information provided to obtain further details on the grants listed. Faculty and staff interested in conducting their own SMARTS (SPIN Matching and Research Transmittal System) searches for other grant and research opportunities should contact the Office for Research and Project Administration or visit their web-site for further information.
Medical students interested in applying for grants should contact the Office of Student Enrichment Programs (Phone: 275-4172). The Office of Student Enrichment Programs maintains files of current grant/fellowship application forms and guidelines. Students interested in applying for grants/fellowship specifically for underrepresented minorities in the health care profession should contact the Ethnic and Multicultural Affairs Office. |
