Information
- Organize and provide information on local and national research and service opportunities.
- Organize and provide information on international elective and service opportunities.
Funding
- Provide information on funding possibilities for student paracurricular experiences.
- Administer OME Research Funds.
- Work with Financial Aid Office in processing Federal Work Study funds for students' summer research and community projects.
- Administer annual International Health Award process.
Advising
- Advise students on paracurricular experiences.
- Advise residents and faculty on international experiences.
- Direct students to appropriate faculty for extensive advising.
- Support Faculty Advisory Committees in the three areas of International Medicine, Student Research, and Community Outreach.
Special Programs and Projects
- Facilitate annual Marvin J. Hoffman Day, a day to showcase student efforts in the three areas of International Medicine, Student Research, and Community Outreach.
- Facilitate summer and academic-year student volunteering in community sites.
- Facilitate process for visiting international students to participate in clinical electives at URSMD.
- Maintain linkages with multiple international medical schools.
- Coordinate and facilitate international medical education conferences.
- Co-facilitate speaker series with interested students on health issues in the community.
