   Heather-Rae KEnnedy B.S..
             

Heather-Rae graduated from SUNY Potsdam in 2001 with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. She began her career at the University of Rochester in the fall of 2001 as a Psychiatric Technician on the Child and Adolescent Psychiatric unit (3- 9200). She spent close to two years working with children with a wide variety of psychiatric disorders. In January of 2003, Heather-Rae moved into a Case Manager Position in the Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program at Strong Hospital. There she was able to gain a wider knowledge of Psychiatric care working with patients of all ages. It was in these two years of her career that she became interested in research. She began working on several small research projects with the current program director Dr. Robert Redondo. In February of 2005 she was presented with the opportunity to join the UR Sleep and Neurophysiology Research Laboratory. 

Today Heather-Rae holds a Clinical Research Coordinator position within the UR Sleep and Neurophysiology Research Laboratory. She is currently working on several Pharmaceutical and NIH funded research projects. She heads the team in recruitment and advertising responsibilities. Also she has taken on the role of preparing grants for NIH submission under the guidance of the PI for the grant. Her present goal is to complete her Research Coordinator Certification. It will then be her intention to return to academia and acquire a Master’s degree in the field of Psychology.
